Katrina Veldkamp focuses on issues related to employee benefits, including pensions, health and welfare plans, and post-employment benefits. As an associate in Best Best & Krieger LLP’s Employee Benefits practice group, Katrina advises both private and public sector clients on a variety of employee benefit areas. These include qualified plans, health and welfare issues such as HIPAA, COBRA, Section 125 and Healthcare Reform, and fiduciary concerns under ERISA and applicable state and local laws. She has experience drafting all types of plan documents, summary plan descriptions and employee communications as well as advising clients regarding establishing, changing and terminating benefit programs.

Katrina graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where she served as chief submissions editor of the UCLA Entertainment Law Review and treasurer of the Animal Law Society. She previously worked as an associate in the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation group at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in Los Angeles. Katrina earned her bachelor’s degree in English from UCLA.

She is a professional member of the American Society for Pension Professionals and Actuaries and is actively involved in the planning of the annual Western Benefits Conference. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, singing and performing with community theater groups.
